Find, rename and delete your chats

Every chat with AI Assistant is saved for you. Search, reopen, rename or delete them from the chat list.

Your chats with AI Assistant are saved, so you can pick one up later. Chats from the Ask onhr Assistant panel on other screens are saved to the same list.

Who can do this

Anyone signed in to a workspace. The list shows only your own chats in the workspace you are in. It says Only you can see your chats.

The demo does not save chats. Its list says Chats are not saved in the demo.

Steps

Open the list

On a wide screen, the list is the column at the left of the AI Assistant page. On a narrow screen, tap the panel icon at the top left (Open your chats). In the Ask onhr Assistant panel, it is the same icon at the top left.

Chats are grouped by when you last asked something: Today, Yesterday, Previous 7 days, Previous 30 days and Older. A chat is named after its first question.

Find a chat

  1. Type in Search chats. It matches chat names.
  2. Click a chat to open it.

The open chat's address ends in ?chat= and its id. A refresh, or the back button, brings you back to it.

Start a new chat

Click New chat.

Rename a chat

  1. Point at the chat and click the … button beside it.
  2. Choose Rename.
  3. Type the new name, up to 120 characters, and press Enter. Press Escape to cancel.

Delete a chat

  1. Click the … button beside the chat.
  2. Choose Delete.
  3. The row asks Delete this chat?. Click Delete to confirm, or Cancel.

Deleting a chat removes its messages and any files sent in it. It cannot be brought back.

Common problems

  • A question about HR is missing from a saved chat. When AI Assistant looks at HR data (staff, leave, claims, attendance, payroll and the like) to answer, that question and its answer are not saved. Your other questions in the chat are kept. This keeps HR details out of saved chats. If every question in a new chat was about HR, the chat does not appear in the list.
  • "That chat is no longer available, so here is a new one." The chat was deleted, or it belongs to another workspace.
  • "This chat could not be opened". It is still saved. Check your connection and click Try again.
  • "Your chats could not be loaded". Nothing is lost. Click Try again.
  • "Could not rename. Try again." or "Could not delete. Try again." The change did not go through. Try once more.
